Wilmer "Bob" DeVane, 87, of Pavo, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kenny West and Reverend John Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo, GA.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Mr. DeVane's grandsons will serve as his casketbearers. Mr. Mike Roberts will serve as an Honoray Casketbearer.

Born March 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Eugene DeVane and Louise Evans DeVane. Mr. DeVane was a talented man who accomplished a great deal in his life. He was a patriot who loved his country and served honorably in the US Air Force for over 20 years. Mr. DeVane was a skilled pilot who flew charter planes for corporate customers. He also flew a crop duster spraying for many local farmers that he considered good friends. He enjoyed watching dirt track racing and will be remembered as an "enthusiastic fan" by anyone who sat around him in the stands. Mr. DeVane attended Pavo United Methodist Church. He always considered his family as his greatest treasure in life and loved them all deeply. His laughter, sense of humor and love for them will continue to live on in their hearts.

His family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chisom Onuoha and RN Katie Willis of the Oncology Center; Dr. Michael Gee and RN Brandie Willis; and Dr. Raul Santos for their exceptional care and treatment of Mr. Devane.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maria Alrid DeVane in 1989; a daughter, Louise "Lisa" Smith; a granddaughter, Jennifer Wurst; 3 sisters; 1 brother, a mother-in-law, Thelma J. Weeks, and a brother-in-law, Lee Bannister.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Johnson DeVane; children, Roberta Sealy and husband Charles, Lisa Tillman and husband Jeff, and Art Martinez and wife Vanessa Ardon; grandchildren, Blu Sealy and Lisa, Jessica Wright and Stan, Kenneth Sealy, Logan Smith, Jordan Smith and Steven Holden, Tristan Sealy and Brooke, Tyler Tillman and Madison Manning, Erin Good and Andrew; numerous great-grandchildren; special caregiver, Emma Daniels; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital.
