Mr.Wayne Gibbs, 83, of Adel, Georgia, passed away Wednesday October 26, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. He was born on November 20, 1932 in Cook County to his late parents, Walter Charlie Gibbs and Laura Lydia Lindsey Gibbs. He was a lifelong resident of Cook County where he was a member of Massee Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer, gas plant supervisor, contractor with Harvest Star Silos, and a car salesman.

Mr. Gibbs is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Don and Monica Gibbs, and Mike Gibbs, all of Adel; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Lois Grey of Tifton, Georgia and Shirley Kaiser of Lakeland, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia V. James Gibbs; his daughter-in-law, Lynn Gibbs; three brothers: Frank Gibbs, Lindsey Gibbs and Lankford Gibbs; and three sisters: Edna Postell, Nell Flowers and Quida Baker.

The Gibbs family will receive friends Thursday evening October 27, 2015 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service will take place in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Milliken and Bro. Jackie Raley officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery.
