Meigs, GA - Funeral services for Roy Bennett, 79, of Meigs will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00AM at Willis-Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. Rev. Lynn Roberts and Rev. Frank Danner will officiate and interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy West, Roger West, William Tuggle, Larry Ethridge, Glenn Smith and Woody Eubanks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ben Wingard, Emory Autry and Pete Foote.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.

Born October 30, 1945 in Colquitt, County, he was the son of the late Mason and Kate Roberts Bennett. Mr. Bennett passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

He was a retired member of the National Guard and worked as a farmer and later in poultry.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Dawn Anderson Bennett of Meigs; three sons, Blake Bennett (Stephanie) of Americus; Barry Bennett (Lisa) of Walstonburg, NC and Brandon Bennett (Paige) of Turner County; grandchildren, Perry Bennett, Lane Bennett, Addison Bennett and Riley Bennett and a sister Janice Wingard of Meigs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Mason Scott Bennett.
