Datteln, Germany - Robert (Bobby) Thomas, Jr. 68, was born on Sept. 24, 1957, in Colquitt County, Ga., to Velma Lewis Thomas and the late Robert Thomas. Robert (Bobby) transitioned from his earthly home on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in Datteln, Germany.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Laura B. Jolly (Robert) and grandmother Lorene Sampson, both of Moultrie, Ga.; father, Robert Thomas of Fulton County, Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Judis D. Thomas of Moultrie, Ga.; uncle, J.D. Lewis of Boston, Mass.; aunt, Eddie Mae Gibson of Newark, N.J.

Robert (Bobby) graduated from Williams Bryant High in 1970. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1975. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1975 where he retired from the Army after serving 20 years, where he resided in Datteln, Germany. He worked as a Computer Tech until he retired.

In his spare time, he loved music, beach, Panama Beach and his family.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife, Esbeth Thomas; son, Marcus Thomas, both lives in Datteln, Germany; daughter, Natascha, Washington, D.C.; his mother, Velma Lewis Thomas of Moultrie, Ga.; uncle, Jasper (Joyce) Lewis of Pavo, Ga.; uncle, Nathaniel Gibson of Newark, New Jersey; aunt, Shirley Jones, McDonough, Ga.; brother, Lamar (Gene) (Desiree) Thomas of East Point, Ga.; sister, Cheryl T. Edwards of Moultrie, Ga.; sister, Vel F. Kimbel of Cairo, Ga.; cousins, Marvin Wilcher of Moultrie, Ga., Ricky Smith of Albany, Ga.; a host of nephews and nieces; Special best friend Kenny (Kid) Green, Sammy James, the late Ricky James, the late Micheal Foster, Micheal Palms.
