Gaffney, S.C. - GAFFNEY, S.C. [mdash]Michael Todd Dalton, 43, of Gaffney, SC passed away on June 3, 2026 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born July 6, 1982 to Lamar Dalton and Carol Dalton, Michael grew up in his beloved hometown of Moultrie, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Marcus Dalton.

He is survived by his wife Meghan and their children Claire and Lydia, his sisters Michelle (Brice) Moss and Cari (Jamie) Huante, nephews Dalton (MaryAnn) Moss and Hudson (Dori) Moss, cousin Lance (Shana) Murphey, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

A special acknowledgement is made for Michael's mother-in-law Karen Spigner, sisters-in-law Farrell McTeer and Olivia Garrett, and for his friends who held him up throughout his journey, including Jeffrey Hunter, Eric Quinn, Jeff Osment, Dillon Clopton, and Frank Wilson. The family especially thanks the staff of DCI Gaffney for their steadfast care, and the communities of Gaffney High School and Blacksburg High School for their continuous support.

Michael lived a life completely on his terms, cherishing time with family, involvement with high school athletics, hobbies including hunting and fishing, and playing cards with friends. He was an incredible man, sharing his wisdom as a coach and friend, supporting and encouraging his children, students, friends, and his family.

We remember and celebrate his life, honoring the laughter, generosity, and love he brought to so many every day.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Friday, June 5, 2026 at the home of Brice and Michelle Moss, 674 Corinth Road, Gaffney, SC. Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026 in the Gaffney High School
