Margaret E. "Lala" Tucker, 85, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on May 20, 2024 at Osprey Village of Amelia Island.

Born on November 3, 1938, in Mitchell County, GA to the late JD Alligood & Christine (Alligood) Smith. She grew up in Albany, GA and graduated from Albany High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Howard Tucker, in 1958 and moved around during his time serving in the Army. They settled in Jacksonville, Florida and then Moultrie, GA to raise their two sons, Tommy & Chris. They relocated to Fernandina Beach, FL in 2018 to be close to their magical granddaughter, Magnolia Grace.

She and her husband owned and operated the Western Auto in Moultrie, GA from 1974 to 1991. She also served as a dedicated Activities Director of UniHealth Magnolia Manor South until she retired in 2012. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother.

She was an avid reader who often enjoyed shopping, antiquing, gardening and spending time with her dear family. Margaret loved to chat with her sisters often, spend time with her nieces and nephews, and spent her later years creating precious memories with her granddaughter.

Margaret leaves behind her spouse of 65 years, Howard Tucker of Fernandina Beach, children, Chris Tucker (Kim) of Jacksonville, FL, Tom Tucker (Jen) and granddaughter, Maggie, of Fernandina Beach, sister Elaine (Reggie) Pye of Rex, GA and many loving brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by sister, Jacquelyn Guido.

Her family remembers her as a kind, patient, and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend often reminding them to "be sweet."

A private life celebration will take place at a later date.
