Thomasville, Georgia - Macie Perry (Folsom) Avery daughter of the late Willie Green Perry and Ruby Roberts Perry passed away on December 13, 2025 at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, GA.
She was born in Cedar Springs, GA on November 25, 1932, and she had six siblings: Fletcher, Hampton, Syble, Hallie, Annette, and Ada Lou.
She graduated as Valedictorian from Cedar Springs High School and Martha Berry College in Rome, GA. Her chosen career was education and she taught home economics, first grade, and remedial math/reading on computers.
Macie was a Christian and dedicated member of Hopewell Baptist Church and Mt. Olive Baptist Church (formerly). She was a member of the church choir and loved to sing hymns with family and friends, as well as Christmas Carols. She was known as a kind, loving, helpful person who lived life to the fullest by serving others.
Macie married Clyde W. Folsom (USMC), in 1954 and had four children: Judy, David, Chris, and Patricia. They lived in several states together: California, Hawaii, and North Carolina. Macie married again in 1977 to Robert S. Avery and enjoyed life on the Avery farm in Moultrie, GA, sharing her life with his children: Donna, Susan, Annette, Joy, Bobby, and Angela.
In 2021, Macie moved to Thomasville, GA to be closer to her grandchildren: Daniel, Darin, Alan, Ashley Jo, and Blake, as well as her great-grandchildren: Hudson, Julianne, Trey, and Aidan. The last two years of life, she resided at Southern Pines Senior Living where she loved sharing her faith, singing with friends and playing bingo.
