Larry T. McGee passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA. Larry was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. McGee Sr. and Edna T. McGee, and by his siblings Thomas W. McGee Jr. and Barbara M. Kamrath.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla T. McGee, and his daughters Alison J. McGee (Rob Sutter) and Amara A. McGee (Ben Knowles), granddaughter Nina J. Carlile, and his siblings Patricia M. Bishop, Edwin Gerald McGee, James Anthony McGee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was born in Moultrie, GA and was raised in the Reedy Creek Community. He graduated from Moultrie High School, received an Associate's degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College to become a registered nurse and went on to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. His nursing career was long and varied, with time spent managing nursing departments.

His true passion, however, was caring for patients. He retired from the VA Hospital in Dublin GA after many years of caring for veterans. He was kind and gentle in his work, and in all parts of his life. Larry was a spiritual seeker who was curious about everything and everyone. He was a wanderer and lived in numerous states and a few countries. He loved animals and food and loved to share meals with his family and friends. He had a green thumb and houseplants thrived under his care. He enjoyed fly fishing and had a passion for photography. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but the memories of his generous spirit and his frequent laughter will be a comfort.

A memorial service will be held on June 23, 2 pm, at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Moultrie, GA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA, the Humane Society, or a local animal rescue.
