James Hayward
James Hayward "Jim" Ward, 76, of Moultrie, died Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM-7:00PM Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born August 28, 1943 in Savannah, he was the son of the late Robert James Ward and Marie Helen McClellan Ward Racer. Mr. Ward was a United States Navy Veteran and was of the Presbyterian faith. He retired as the Eastern Division President of Universal Forest Products in Moultrie. The family remembers how he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Mr. Ward was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert James Ward II and Roy Thomas Ward; stepfather, Joseph Weldon Racer.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Watkins Ward of Moultrie; children, Lance Hayward Ward and wife Lori of Moultrie, Paige Ward Wells and husband William Mark of Newnan; grandchildren, Conley Ward Tolbert and husband Jay, William Lawren Wells, Catherine Taylor Wells, Macy Patrice Ward and Kate Myrick Wells; brother, Earl Patrick Ward of Claxton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Moultrie YMCA.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.

Just learned this today...the waffle house crew is so sorry for y'alls loss. Condolence to all family members. He always made me smile when he came in for breakfast. Him and his wife were a true example of a beautiful couple.❤praying for the days to be less painful

Cat, I remember Jim fondly as ourneighbor years ago. Your children were babies when I last saw y’all. So sad. May you find comfort in your time of loss of your beloved husband My sympathy to all.

Mr Ward was a pt at the office I work at and he was one of my favorite patients. He was always so kind and a pleasure to be around. He will most definitely be missed by our staff. Prayers and love sent to the family in this difficult time.
