MOULTRIE, GA. — Jacquelyn T. Mullis, 97 years young, a resident of Moultrie, Georgia since 1949, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at her residence at Magnolia Manor South.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church of Moultrie with Reverend Dr. Richard Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Cobb - Sunset Memorial Gardens. Following interment, the family invites you to a celebration of Jackie's life to be held at Sunset Country Club.

Visitation will be held prior to funeral services at 1 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Moultrie Social Hall.

The casket bearers will be Matt Rabon, Ben Rabon, Josh Rabon, Cliff Adair, Robb Gardner, and Walter Harrison.

Jackie was born on Sept. 21, 1926, in St. Petersburg, FL, attended high school and college in Valdosta, GA and was Valdosta's first Forest Festival Queen in 1947. She graduated from VSU in 1948 and briefly attended graduate school at Washington State in Pullman, WA. After moving to Moultrie with her husband Perry, she became a member of the Junior Woman's Club, the Moultrie Federated Guild, the Sunset Country Club Ladies Association, and served as a Girl Scout Leader. She was active in her church as a teacher of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Board of Stewards, and a Sunday School teacher for decades. She will be missed but she is now at peace with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Perry M. Mullis, her parents, Mildred W. T. Smith and John K. Talton, her step-father Otis W.Smith, her step-mother Lorene B. Talton, her sister Lou K. Talton and her brother C. Alvin Talton.

She is survived by one son, William M. Mullis and wife Kandy; two daughters, Marjorie M. Rabon and husband Jim, Lynn M. Giles and husband Gary; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
