Moultrie, Georgia - It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Floyd Patterson, Jr. He passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Wellstar Tranquility At Cobb Hospital - Hospice Care in Austell, Georgia at the age of 61.

Born June 19, 1965 in Jesup, Georgia, Floyd spent most of his life in Moultrie, Georgia. He was the son of the late Matte E. Mathis-McKever. He was preceded in death by his sister Katrina J. Mathis.

Floyd leaves to cherish his memory his son Floyd Patterson. III; two grandchildren Elijah X. Patterson and Jeremiah L. Patterson; three sisters Tammy L. Williams, Melinda A. Williams-Smith, and LaTeisha Williams; three brothers Johnny F. Mathis, Michael D. Williams, and Demetrius Williams.

Floyd was a man that knew and loved the Lord. Affectionately known as "ET" by many friends and "Pap Pap" by those who loved him most, he was loving, thoughtful, and a helpful man who touched the lives of those who knew him. He found joy in reading the bible, reading books, he loved all Georgia sports and listening to gospel music, which brought him peace and comfort throughout his life. Floyd was a member of Mother Easter Baptist Church in Moultrie, Georgia.

Floyd will be remembered for his caring heart and the love he shared with family and friends. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace. We thank everyone that stands with the family in this season of loss. In the words Floyd always ended his conversations with, "You be blessed".
