MOULTRIE, GA - Danny Reid Jewell, 77, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Nick Dawson officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cobb Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Casketbearers will include Reid Jewell, Louie Lawson, Byron Bostick, and Brayden Jewell.

Born August 30, 1946, he was the son of the late Luther Willard Jewell and Catherine Cloud Jewell. Mr. Jewell retired as an educator with the Colquitt County School System and Southern Regional Technical College, having touched many lives throughout the years. He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. Mr. Jewell enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. In addition, cheering on the Colquitt County Packers and Georgia Bulldogs was a favorite pastime. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Moultrie, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Payne.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Suzan McNair Jewell; son, Robert Jewell and wife Celeste of Camilla; grandchildren, Emily Lawson and husband Louie, Abby Jewell, Reid Jewell; siblings, Luther Willard Jewell, Jr., Janice Raynor, Zeb Jewell and wife Donna, Debbie Joiner; multiple nieces and nephews.
