Graveside services for Arlene Vinson Hancock will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Louisiana Street, with Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner officiating.

Mrs. Hancock passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2016.

Born January 7, 1920, in Colquitt County, she was the eldest daughter of the late Claude and Stella Vinson. She was a member of the graduating class of 1940 at Moultrie High School. In 1940, she married the late Cleston Berry Hancock. They had four children, who survive: Cleston Don Hancock of Thomasville, Randall Eugene Hancock, of Coolidge, and Beverly Ann Hancock and Linda Gail Hancock of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Cindy Hancock of Tifton and Jonathan Thomas Hancock of Pavo; and one great-grandchild, Erik J. Hancock of Pavo.

Mrs. Hancock was a wonderful homemaker and business woman. Together with her late husband, she co-owned and worked at Hancock Tire Company and Hancock Firearms as the bookkeeper. She was devoted to her family and will be missed for her caring and compassionate ways. She reared her children in a Christian home and her faith sustained her throughout her life and at the end of her earthly life. She is now with her Savior, at peace, finally.

The family will receive friends from 5 pm. - 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Donation may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
