MOULTRIE, GA.- Nell Cone Stripling, 84, of Moultrie, Ga., died Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Dr. Carl Felts officiating and assisted by the Rev. Julian Griner. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
The Deacons of Hopewell Baptist Church will serve as casketbearers.
Born October 2, 1932 in Moultrie, Ga., she was the daughter of the late John Edward Cone and Clifford Arnold Cone. She retired from Southwest Ga. Bank as a Vice President. Mrs. Stripling was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and served as the church treasurer for 40 years. Her family remembers how she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stripling enjoyed cooking Sunday dinner for the family and invited anyone over who wanted to come eat a delicious home-cooked dinner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Louie Stripling, Sr.; granddaughter, Renee Norman; four brothers, Walter Cone, Cecil Cone, Cleo Cone and Rufus Cone; and sister, Louise Cone Day.
Survivors include nine children, Kathy Stripling, Robin S. Kistler and Andy, all of Moultrie, Ga., Danny Stripling and Tina of Hahira, Ga., David Stripling and Tammy, Steve Stripling and Debra, Guy Stripling and Carol, Louie Stripling, all of Moultrie, Ga., Carolyn S. Nettleton of Winter Haven, Fla., and Elaine Jacobson of Tampa, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, Nikki K. Lacey, Andrew Kistler, Katie Stripling, Andy Scott, Penny Scott, Jason Stripling, Josh Stripling, Jennifer Stripling, Jesi Faulkner, Kaylyn Stripling, Railey Stripling, Emily Kate Stripling and Dustan Creed Stripling; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM- 8:00PM Friday, February 3, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
