MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Mr. Larry Edward Singleton Sr., 68, entered into rest on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his residents.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Luke Strong And Son Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in the Strong Memorial Gardens, with the repass to conclude at the Ryce Center. Aaron Knighton, Carlos Williams, Shannon Powell, Eugene Puttman and Michael Sloan will serve as pallbearers.
Larry was born on October 30, 1948 in Trenton, New Jersey, to the late K.C. Singleton Sr. and the late Willie Lee Goins Singleton.
Larry attended Spencer Sharples High School in Toledo, Ohio.
Larry moved to Moultrie, Georgia, in 1995 and there is where he met Alma J. Brown; they were married in holy matrimony in the year 2000.
He received Christ in his early 20s.
Larry served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1974 with honorable discharge.
Larry's passion was cutting hair as a barber. He worked for over 40 years combined as a Master Barber in Toledo, Ohio, and Moultrie, Georgia.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; stepson J.J. King; 3 brothers, K.C. Singleton Jr., Frank Singleton and Andrew Singleton; sister, Mittie Rose Livingston.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Alma J. Brown Singleton of Moultrie, Georgia; 2 sons, Larry E. Singleton Jr. of Toledo, Ohio, and Bryan Greene (Britney) of Nashville, Tennessee; brother, the Rev. Leon and Minister Redonna Singleton of Stone Mountain, Georgia; 4 sisters, Johnnie Mae Thurman and Lillie Belle Cardell, both of Toledo, Ohio, Patricia King of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Lucille Singleton of Youngstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Larry Singleton III, Caprice Singleton, America Singleton and Hadssah Greene; special friends, the owner, staff and clients of O.K. Barber Shop of Moultrie, Georgia; and a host of other relatives.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Luke Strong And Son Mortuary Chapel.
