MOULTRIE, Ga. -- James Troy "Buddy" Allen, 82, of Moultrie, Ga., died Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Corey Shiver officiating, assisted by Mrs. Wanda Oliver. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Steve Dickerson, Lamar Hickey, Paul Payne, Harold Allen, Michael Holloway and Darryl Brazeale.
Born November 25, 1934 in Heflin, AL., he was the son of the late Emory Troy Allen and Lura Perkins Allen. Mr. Allen was associated with Frostie Bottling Company and retired from Frito-Lay as a route salesman. His family remembers how he loved fishing, baseball, football and people. Mr. Allen never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Lee Henderson Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Sonja Jeanette Woodward Allen of Moultrie, GA.; four children, Wanda Oliver and Mark of Doerun, GA., Sandra Diane Allen, Jackie Wayne Allen both of Moultrie, GA., Teresa Ann Cornwell of LaGrange, GA.; two step-daughters, Melissa Ann Willis of Thomasville, GA., Deborah Denise Hurst of Cairo, GA.; eight grandchildren, Kelly Ann Bacon and Corey, William Mark Oliver, Vera Elizabeth Morris and Jared, Samantha Summerlin and Jonathan, Michael Dewitt Hurst, James Thomas Hurst and Maria, Justin Willis and Hanna Willis; eight great-grandchildren, Nora Kate Bacon, Hunter Strickland, Makinley Morris, Brenlee Morris, Brendon Morris, Cameron Summerlin, Cadence Summerlin and Carson Summerlin; brother, Larry J. Allen of Moultrie, GA.; two sisters, JoAnn Baker of Tabor, N.C., Helen Reeves of Anniston, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
