ALBANY, Ga. -- Banister Tyree "Ban" McGee Jr., 87, of Albany, Ga., died Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Alan English officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Casketbearers will be Austin Addison, Quint Elmore, Jorge Cruz, Robert Lashley, Craig Stevens and Pat Howard.
Born October 31, 1929, in Chunky, Miss., he was the son of the late Banister Tyree McGee Sr. and Gladys Elmore McGee. Mr. McGee was a retired Staff Sergeant with the United States Army. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoy fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce LaFaye Bozeman McGee; daughter, Debra Sue McGee; sisters, Mary Mays and Thelma Brazel; and brother, Howard McGee.
Survivors include three children, Tyree McGee of Sylvester, Ga., Elizabeth English and Alan of Caryville, Fla., Patricia McGee of Albany, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Chelsey Addison, Megan Elmore, Rachael McGee, Bowynne McGee, Jesse English and Melissa, Sara English and Jorge and John English; six great-grandchildren, Raelynn Addison, Blakely Addison, Andrew Lee Elmore, Daylan English, Maci English and Isabella English; five sisters, Maureen Kelly of Moultrie, Ga., Ree Hortman of St. Simons, Ga., Sidney Pickett of Jacksonville, Fla., June Paschal of Moultrie, Ga., and Linda Morris of Moultrie, Ga.; brother, Ray McGee of Riverside, Calif.; several nieces and nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM -8:00PM Friday, April 7, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
