MARSHALLVILLE, Ga. -- Anthony Bryan Slaton, 76, of Marshville, Ga, formerly of Moultrie, Ga., passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at The Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie, Ga. with the Rev. Tim Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Phil Doles, Carey Tanner, Michael Plymel and Larry Tanner.
Born November 10, 1940 in Reynolds, Ga., he was the son of the late Raymond Oris Slaton and Lillian Ione McCarty Slaton. He retired from the State of Georgia as a grain inspector and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Slaton was an avid woodworker and loved planting and taking care of his daylilies.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Plymel Slaton.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Andrea Copeland and Berry of Brunswick, Ga.; grandson, Scott Copeland; sister, Bonnie Doles and Jack of Fort Valley, Ga.; brother, Gene Slaton and Sally of Stone Mountain, Ga; brother-in-law, Sonny Tanner of Boston, Ga. and other family members.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
