MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Alvin Hall Brooks, 89, of Moultrie, Ga. died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Pruitt Health in Moultrie.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Jimmy Jones officiating. Interment in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Born October 16, 1927 in Moultrie, Ga., he was the son of the late Avin Hall Brooks and Lillie Whitfield Brooks. He served in the Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Brooks retired from Swift and Company as a meat cutter. He loved his family very much and was a devoted husband to his wife Edna Goss Brooks for 63 years. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avin Hall Brooks and Lillie Whitfield Brooks; and two brothers Henry Brooks and Elster Brooks.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Goss Brooks of Moultrie, Ga.; one daughter, Debra Brooks Silvi and husband Tony of Baconton, Ga.; one son, Gary Hall Brooks of Tallahassee, Fl.; one grandson, John Anthony Silvi II of Baconton, Ga.; one sister, Una Mae Alderman of Bainbridge, Ga.; and other family members.
The family will receive friends 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
