MEIGS, Ga. -- Winnie Pearl Bannister Jackson, 91, of Meigs, Ga., died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at her home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 4, 2017 at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dion Brown and the Rev. Charlie Reese officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Leslie Moore, Gary Presley, Alan White, Sonny Presley, Calvin McCracken and Lavon Bannister.
Born March 31, 1926 in Moultrie, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Antone Bannister and Irelia Southerland Bannister. Mrs. Jackson retired from the Ga. Department of Family Services and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Jackson; son, Joey Jackson and Randall Lee Jackson; brothers, C.H. Bannister, Frank Bannister and Cres Bannister; sisters, Lorraine Presley, Gladys McCracken and Lota Wincey.
Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Jackson and Rhonda of Meigs, Ga., Shelton Jackson and Marsha of Americus, Ga.; daughter, Ginger Jackson Mazur and Brendan of Alpharetta, Ga.; grandsons, Shannon Jackson and Anne, Lee Jackson, Brent Jackson and Chase Jackson; granddaughters, Melissa Scott and Donnie, April Jackson, Rebecca Mobley and John Mark, Mandy Jackson; great-grandsons, Austin Jackson, Noah Diaz-Jackson, Jack Mobley; great-granddaughters, Taylar Jackson, Khloe Jackson, Elle Mobley, Olivia Mae Mobley.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM -11:00AM Friday, August 4, 2017 at New Bethel Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel Building and Grounds Fund, 6623 Lower Meigs Road, Meigs, Ga. 31765.
