PAVO -- Willie Mae Palmer McRae, 68, of Pavo, died Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 26, 2019 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. S.E. Newberry officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery in Pavo.
Casketbearers will be Stacy McRae, Junior McNish, Amy Watson, Raymond Watson, Adrian Cook and Mance Woodard.
Born June 6, 1951 in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Willie Daniel Palmer and Mavis Hampton Palmer. Mrs. McRae was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Her family remembers how she loved to garden, can vegetables, but more than anything, she adored her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Avery McRae; one daughter, Tammy Cook; two sisters, Joan Cook and Phyllis Ann Gilson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John McRae and Alma Prescott McRae.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara Wanda McCracken of Pavo; two brothers, Jimmy Palmer of Albany and Danny Palmer of Screven, Ga.; four sisters, Jennie Jarnigan of Moultrie, Pat Watson of Thomasville, Fonda Hooper of Sylvester and Alicia Boatright of Mershon, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jessica Cook, Richelle Cook and Jonathan McCracken; six great-grandchildren, Adrian Cook, Jada Mathews, Aden Turner, Raylee Gilmer, Destiny Cook and Addison Cook.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
