William Leo Porter


MOULTRIE, GA.- William Leo Porter, 93, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation in Leesburg GA.
Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ike Branch and the Rev. Steve Hood officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Rick Porter, Tommy Porter, Donny Watson, Keith Lewis, Bob Donaway, Brian Donaway.
Born October 30, 1925 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Warren Tinsley Porter and Maggie Irene Hartsfield Porter. Mr. Porter was a United States Navy World War II Veteran and retired after 30 years of service as an appliance repairman with Kelly Reeves Furniture. He attended New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie Madglene "Johnnie" Norman Porter; sisters and brother-in-law, Hazel Irene Porter Foster and Earl, Margie Mae Tate; brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd "Buddy" Porter and Alma, Robert W. Porter and Audrey.
Survivors include his sons, Benny L. Porter and wife Pat of Albany, David L. Porter and wife Carol of Sylvester; grandchildren, Lisa Porter Clark, Michele Porter Bausick, Tibbie Porter Watson, Rick Porter; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
