MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Virginia Lanier Perry, 97, of Moultrie passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Pruitt Health Magnolia Manor.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, January 20, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
She was born on July 22, 1920 in Autreyville, Georgia at the home of her loving parents Thomas Archibald and Harriett Lou (Sheffield) Lanier. She graduated from Colquitt County High School in 1938 and attended Bessie Tift College. She taught school early in her career, then later worked at Wright Motor Company, South Georgia Gas Company and Moultrie National Bank.
She was a blessing to all and truly one of the most graceful and thoughtful people on earth. She loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, working in her yard, and cheering on her favorite sports teams. Her life was deeply rooted in her faith and she will be forever missed.
She is survived by her daughter Katherine Lanier Ricker of Citrus Heights, California; her son Frank Harris Perry, Jr. of Moultrie, Georgia; Janis Clark Perry of Moultrie, Georgia; her grandchildren Frank (Karen) Perry, III, Joshua (Hillary) Perry, Emily (Jason) Davenport, Daniel (Torrie) Perry and John (Heather) Tomlinson; her great-grandchildren Raven Munoz, Taylor Perry, Chase Perry, Sarah Perry, Clark Davenport, Jade Johnson, Evan Johnson, John Harris Perry, Sadie Tomlinson, and Stella Tomlinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Thomas Grady Lanier, and sister Gladys Mae Lanier.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-11:00AM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
