MOULTRIE -- Thomas Gilbert Harlow, 78, of Moultrie, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Golden Apple.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 15, 2018 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Lewis and the Rev. Murray Barfield officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Casketbearers will be Tim Robinson, Tommy Thompson, Kirk Merritt, T.J. Robinson, Adam Robinson and Nathan Bell.
Born September 11, 1939 in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of the late Claude Harlow and Margaret Pinkston Harlow. He served in the U.S. Army for twenty-two years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. He was also a retired salesman with Baell Mercantile Co., with nineteen years of service. Mr. Harlow was a former Mayor of the Town of Riverside. He was a member of Lakeside Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Carolyn Allen Harlow; four sisters, Eula Bratcher, Wanda Beavers, Elizabeth Vandiver and Barbara Krone; six brothers, Charles Wayne Harlow, Claude Joseph "C.J." Harlow, Teddy Harlow, William Harlow, Fred Harlow and James Harlow.
Survivors include his son, Steven Allen Harlow and wife Ashley of Moultrie; one daughter, Jennifer Lee Pittman and husband Asa of Valdosta; a goddaughter, Erika Dunning of Tennessee; one brother, Ernie Harlow of Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren, Jayme Cooper, Easton Harlow, Madison Harlow, Constance Harlow and Liam Harlow; three great-grandchildren, Jadi Partain, Miles Partain and Remington Partain.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
