Mrs. Shelby Jean Stephens Daniell, 78, of Lee County died Monday, July 3, 2017 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Omega City Cemetery in Omega, GA. Rev. Douglas Hatcher will officiate.
Mrs. Daniell was born on October 23, 1938 in Colquitt County to the late Gerald and Alnes Canady Stephens. She had lived in the Southwest Georgia area all of her life. Mrs. Daniell had worked as a School Teacher in several of the area School Districts. She enjoyed working with plants and flowers, especially camellias. In 1976, she and her husband turned their love of working with plants into a successful family business when they founded ABC Plant Nursery. Mrs. Daniell was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her Lord and served along aside her husband, Rev. Charles L. Daniell as they ministered in several local Baptist Churches.
Survivors include her son, Greg Daniell (Lori) of Lee County; grandchildren, Holly Daniell of Athens and Blake Daniell of Lee County; sister, Geralene Hughes (Ed) of Lee County; brother, Bill Stephens (Janice) of Omega; sisters-in-law, Ann Miller of Villa Rica and Sarah Daniell of Gainesville, Ga. along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Daniell was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles L. Daniell on April 3, 2017 and a brother, Earl Stephens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at Banks Funeral Home Chapel.
