Selmer's Story

LECANTO, Fla. -- Selmer Lee Cooper Jr., age 66, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, at his residence in Lecanto, Fla., after a long battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 27, 1951, in Doerun, he was the son of the late Selmer Lee Cooper Sr. and Martha Monteen Cooper. He was a machinist for Miller Brewing Company and an avid fisherman and auto mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Edwin Cooper.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cooper; one son, William Cooper and wife Amanda; one daughter, Lori Cooper; and six grandchildren, Samantha, Caleb, Destin, Hailey, Chandler and Drake; two brothers, the Rev. Johnny Cooper and wife Darlene and Donnie Cooper and wife Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. May 27 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
