Patricia Faith Hunter Martin, 70, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired decoder and head of logistics at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and the Charleston Naval Weapons Station, died Thursday morning in a North Charleston hospital.
Her funeral was held 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, April 8, 2017, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner, with interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was born January 30, 1947, in Moultrie, GA, daughter of Guy L. Hunter and Bessie Lairsey Hunter. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and was very involved with her family. She was a 1965 graduate of Moultrie High School and a member of the Lady Packers basketball team. She was a favorite aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and the Camelia Club. She was well respected in her profession for her expertise and knowledge, and she also enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis H. Shiver, and a brother, Jeffrey Hunter.
Surviving are, her husband, Mickey L. Martin; two sisters, Peggy Johnson and her husband, Russell, of Norman Park, GA, and Alice Bonar and her husband, David, of Hamilton, OH; six brothers, Billy Hunter and his wife, Rosemary, of Lilburn, GA, Guy L. Hunter, Jr., and his wife, Mary, of Jacksonville, NC, Robin Hunter of Moultrie, GA, Roger C. Hunter of San Jose, CA, Junius A. Hunter and his wife, Holly, of Gainesboro, TN, and Jerry F. Hunter and his wife, Wendy, of Great Falls, VA.
