Norma Jean Baldy Rumley


Norma Jean Baldy Rumley, 84, of Moultrie, died Monday, August 19, 2019 at Pruitt Health Magnolia Manor South.
Funeral service will be held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Andy Cashwell and Douglas Rumley officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Brandon Rye, Jonathan Rumley, Seth Rumley, Daniel Rumley, Ian Rumley, and James Hay will all serve as pallbearers.
Born on January 20, 1935, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Wilson Baldy and Viola Lessie Norman Baldy. She worked for 43 years as an Income Tax Practitioner and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stan Rumley and daughter in law, Wendy Rumley.
She is survived by her children, Leslie Rye and husband Darrel of Montezuma, Georgia; Douglas Rumley and wife Helen of Monroe, North Carolina; and William Rumley of Valdosta; grandchildren, Brandon Rye of Warner Robins; Rachel Garrett and husband David of Bishop, Georgia; Jonathan Rumley of Philadelphia; Laura Rumley, Caroline Rumley, and Daniel Rumley all of Monroe, North Carolina; Seth Rumley and Ian Rumley, both of Valdosta; great grandchildren Drake Rye and Sawyer Garrett; and devoted caregiver Pinky Barnum.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church Social Hall Building Fund 126 Mt. Olive Baptist Church Rd. Moultrie, Georgia 31788 or to the Colquitt Co. Humane Society 1412 1st St. NE Moultrie, Georgia 31768.
