Mrs. Margaret Flowers, 85, of Adel passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Flowers was born February 4, 1932 in Adel to the late West & Toye Weeks Powers. The Longriders Wagon Train looked forward to staying at the Flowers Farm during their trips through this area. Mrs. Flowers had served as their hostess for many years and loved serving the Longriders members. Service was something that came natural, as she had been the Sunday School Secretary at the First Assembly of God in Adel for over 47 years. In addition, Mrs. Flowers was owner and operator of Flowers by Flowers in Adel for a number of years. The Flowers family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Colquitt Regional Medical Center, and the YMCA in Moultrie, the First Assembly of God Church in Adel, and all the family members and friends who gave special care to Mrs. Flowers during her illness. She was an active member of the community and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Wayne Flowers of Adel, Faye Jung of Pooler, Betty Weeks of Norman Park, and Travis (Tammy) Flowers of Adel; grandchildren, Kayren Burgess, Michael Weeks, Lee Henshaw, Casey Flowers, and Tracie Flowers; great grandchildren, Savannah Burgess, Jackson Burgess, Preston Burgess, Georgia Burgess, Glynn Henshaw, Lilah Flowers, Elli Flowers, and Jacob Flowers; two sisters, Emma Jean Lewis of Nashville, and Eva Nell King of Nashville.
