Lucy "Lucy" Dell Yates

Lucy Lucy Dell Yates MOULTRIE -- Louisa "Lucy" Dell Yates, 84, of Moultrie, passed peacefully on the morning of March 14, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Damon Yates, Keith Yates, Brandon Yates, Frederick Dell, Andrew Belcher and Joseph McKinnon.
Lucy, as she was known to so many friends, was born in Barney, Ga. on October 23, 1934 to Charlie Dell and Nancy Morrell Dell. She worked mostly as a seamstress at Riverside and retired from Sangamon. Lucy loved cooking, traveling, gospel music, her family and was a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a loving wife to her late husband of 61 years, Willie Brantley Yates.
She was also preceded in death by her infant son Larry and her son, Bobby; one sister, Odessa Hutchinson; four brothers, Bill, Fred, Paul and George Dell.
Survivors, all of Moultrie, include her son Eric Yates and wife Julia; her daughter, Tammy Yates Croyle and husband Terry; daughter-in-law, Linda Yates; three grandchildren, Keith Yates and wife Stacey, Damon Yates and wife Jennifer, Amy Yates; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Yates, Noah Yates, Kaitlyn Yarborough and Savanna Yates.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church, 1584 Hopewell Church Road, Moultrie, Ga. 31788.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb Funeral Chapel.
