NORMAN PARK, Ga. -- June Bragg Castelberry, 78, of Norman Park died Monday, July 3, 2017 at Cobblestone.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Dr. William Anthony Roberts and Rev. John Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow in Funston Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jared Peek, Terry Mitchell, Junior Goble, Kenneth Chafin, Lee Bridges and Allen Elkins.
Born December 9, 1938 in Lake City, Fla., she was the daughter of the late George Floyd Bragg and Lottie Marie Sloan Bragg. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Castleberry was a well-known child care provider in Norman Park and surrounding areas. In her thirty-year career, she has kept around three hundred children. She always loved and cared for the children and their best interest was always at heart. Her family was put first and their wellbeing was always put before herself. Her family will miss her greatly and they will always remember her smiling to the end of life.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Castleberry; brother Merlin Lamar Bragg and her sister Ruby Carolyn Bragg.
Survivors include her sons William Anthony (Tony) Roberts and wife Donna of Enigma, Ga., Kevin Floyd Roberts and wife Lisa of Norman Park, Ga.; daughter Tamala June Swanson and husband Donald of Norman Park; grandchildren Autumn Roberts Bridges and husband Lee, Mollie Roberts, Haley Roberts Goble and husband Junior, Heather Roberts Chafin and husband Kenneth, Jared Lee Peek and wife Amber and Ashley Peek Mitchell and husband Terry. She has twelve great grandchildren and all of them came and spent Halloween evening with her before she got ill in November 2016. Other survivors include her brothers Julian Melvin Bragg and wife Glenda of Sylvester, George Wayne Bragg and wife Linda of Fayetteville, David Lincoln Bragg and wife Marilyn of Albany, Ga.; sisters Laura Janice Lindsey and husband Charles of Norman Park, Ga., Linda Annette Carr and husband Alex of Sylvester, Ga.; sisters in law Dora Johnson Bragg, Nellie Castelberry Selph and Francis Castelberry Sellers,; brother in law Harvey Castleberry.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
