MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Julian Robert McCorkle, 89, of Moultrie, Ga., died Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany, Ga.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Myrick officiating. Inurnment will be in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Born June 27, 1928 in Tifton, Ga., he was the son of the late James Clarence McCorkle and Olivet Lucile Pounds McCorkle. Mr. McCorkle retired from Riverside Manufacturing Company as a cutting room supervisor and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. For over 40 years, Mr. McCorkle was the chief umpire for the Moultrie Parks and Recreation Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bobby McCorkle; five brothers, Marvin McCorkle, James McCorkle, Richard McCorkle, Bill McCorkle and Harry McCorkle; sister Sara Turner.
Survivors include his wife Emma Mildred Farmer McCorkle of Moultrie, Ga.; four children, Diane Bridges, Gail Smith and Doyle, all of Moultrie, Ga., Ken McCorkle of San Antonio, Tx., Linda Hayes and Lee of Lawrenceville, Ga.; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the memorial service on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church.
