MOULTRIE, GA -- Herman Wallace Yancey, 88, of Moultrie, GA, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, March 31, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Barrett and the Rev. Andy Cashwell officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Casketbearers will be Levy Douglas, Billy Caton and friends of the family.
Born May 10, 1928 in Tifton, GA, he was the son of the late Leonard Floyd Yancey and Lola Bell Yancey. He was the owner of Yancey Fence Co. and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Edna Yancey; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Yancey and Elizabeth of Sycamore, GA; three grandchildren, Patricia Darleen Douglas and Levi Roy, Mary Joyce Caton and Billy; Chad Wallace Yancey; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Douglas, Austin Douglas, Edward Douglas, Cassidy Caton, Kelsey Caton and Kinley Caton; one great-great- grandchild, Anna Douglas; sister, Barbara Sumner of Tifton, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM - 8:00PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel
