HARTSFIELD, GA.- Floyd Edwin "Eddie" Hartley, 72, of Hartsfield, Ga., passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 15, 2017 at Rose Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Harrell officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Andy Carroll, Richard Coleman, Pete Carroll, Dickie Coleman, Tex Poole and Randall Carroll.
Born July 1, 1944 in Moultrie, Ga., he was the son of the late Allen Edward Hartley and Helen Millings Hartley. Mr. Hartley was a member, deacon and former song leader of Rose Hill Baptist Church. He was a farmer and the former chief of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department. His family remembers how he was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and how he truly loved his family and church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Ray Hartley and nephew, Will Connelly.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Geraldine Roberts Hartley of Hartsfield, Ga.; daughter, Annette Hartley Milam and Randy of Hartsfield, Ga.; son Allen Edwin Hartley of Hartsfield, Ga.; five grandchildren, Keri Milam, Cameron Hartley, Caden Hartley, Rann Hartley and Skylar Hartley; one great-grandchild, Jacob Hartley; sister, Betty Connelly and Billy of Hartsfield, Ga.; brother, Ricky Hartley and Sheila of Moultrie, Ga.; nieces, Allison Connelly Pignocco and John, Anna Hartley and nephew, Clay Hartley.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM- 8:00PM Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
