TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Evelyn Taylor Hughes, 98 years old, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2018 at Westminster Oaks, in Tallahassee, Florida.
She was born on October 11, 1919 in Moultrie, Georgia to C.W. Taylor and Leonora Christmas Taylor, both of Moultrie, Georgia.
She married Levis Hughes, also from Moultrie, and together they had three children: Levis Hughes Jr., Leonora LeCroy and Franklin Hughes, deceased. She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She lived at the Georgia Bell Senior apartments for 28 years, where she made many friends. While there, she earned a living as a seamstress. Her greatest passion was crocheting.
She was a devoted member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church for all the years she lived in Tallahassee.
She will be one of God's Angels looking down upon all of us who loved her so dearly.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Bevis Funeral Home Chapel; the funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at 2:30 PM at West View Cemetery in Moultrie, Ga. Todd Wahlquist with Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193, www.bevisfh.com) is assisting the Hughes family with their arrangements.
