Eunice  Jordan


Ellicott City, Maryland - Mrs. Eunice Davis Jordan, 93 formally of Moultrie departed this life on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Gilcrest Hospice Care.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the St. James Pallbearers Cemetery #2, with repass in the George Walker, Jr. Fellowship Hall of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Christopher Jordan, Jr., Demont Powell, Te'Ron Johnson, Tahrik Anderson, Chris Thomas, and Craig Thomas will be serve as pallbearers.
Eunice Jordan was born July 28, 1925 in Worth County, Georgia to the late Jewell and Rosa B. Davis. Jewell and Rosa were sharecroppers who worked tirelessly for their children. Eunice was eldest of 9 children. Strong willed and fearless, Eunice often stood up for her family ensuring their well-being.
In March 1942, Eunice was wed in holy matrimony to Elisha Jordan. That union was blessed for 58 years until his death in 2000.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha Jordan; two daughters, Gloria Jordan and Florence Johnson; granddaughter, Stacey Jordan; two sisters, Eura Lee Hodges and Thelma Hemmings; and one brother, Jewell Davis, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory; four children, Christopher Jordan, Sr (Toni) Roswell, GA, Oswald Johnson Moultrie, GA, Darlene Knight (Reginald) Suffolk, VA, Doreen Chapman (Michael) Ellicott City, MD; two sisters, Shirley Phillips and Mary Ester Chargo, Rochester, NY; three brothers, Bennie Davis (Etta) Charleston, SC , Otha Davis (Sandy) Corona, CA, and Bobby Davis Rochester, NY; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The Family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Luke Strong And Son Mortuary, Ltd. is in charge of final arrangements.
