Elizabeth Rosemary Rhodes McDonald, age 64, passed away peacefully after a seven year battle with cancer on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her home in Henleyfield, Mississippi. She was born December 11, 1952 in Macon, Georgia to Edgar (Ed) Olin Rhodes and Frances Doris Bryan. Elizabeth graduated from Southwest High School Macon, Georgia. She married Darrell Wilbur McDonald October 28, 1974. They met while working at Maule Aircraft. Elizabeth worked and retired from the US postal service in Picayune, MS. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband Darrell McDonald; her children Gloria Travis and Henry McDonald; her grandchildren Kailey Elizabeth Travis, Quinn Duncan McDonald and Miles Gideon McDonald; her brother Wilbur Wright and her sister Laura Fitzpatrick as well as many nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth enjoyed crafting. She needle pointed, quilted, painted, did flower arrangements, embroidered and many other things. She took pride as a member of the Busy Bee Club of Pearl River County devoting her time along with fellow Bees doing charity work.
Elizabeth had a kind and gentle soul. She touched many lives with her unselfish thoughtfulness. Her life's mantra was "If it isn't kind don't say it." Family and friends of Elizabeth are invited to Roseland Park Baptist Church 2130 Hwy 11 N, Picayune, MS 39466 from 1 pm-2 pm Saturday October 14, 2017 to reminisce, grieve and support each other followed by a memorial service from 2 pm-3 pm.
