HARTSFIELD, Ga. -- Dorothy Rose Dekle DeMott Turner, 87, of Hartsfield, GA., died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00PM Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert McCoy officiating. A private interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Wesley Sauls, Jeff Powell, Adam Anderson and Max DeMott. Honorary casketbearer will be Charles Harrison Powell.
Born July 22, 1930 in Moultrie, GA., she was the daughter of the late Coy Dekle and Estelle Rosencrantz Dekle. Mrs. Turner retired from Dr. Horace Chitty as a dental hygienist and a member of Autreyville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Max Erman DeMott and Donald O. Turner, Sr.; son, Richard Erman "Richie" DeMott; sister, Margie Dekle Mims.
Survivors include three children, Rhonda DeMott Sauls and Wesley of Moultrie, GA., Kay DeMott Powell and Jeff of Norman Park, GA., Doug DeMott of Hartsfield, GA.; eight grandchildren, Kelli DeMott Williams and Drew, Max Erman DeMott, II and Britt, Britni Anderson Dempsey and Dwight, Rosemary Anderson Wagner and Bryce, Adam Napier Anderson and Julie, Charles Harrison Powell, Meaghan DeMott Butler and Josh, Maci Rose DeMott; eight great-grandchildren, Mason Williams, Gaines Williams, Braylee Dempsey, Anabelle Dempsey, Palmer Dempsey, Paxton Anderson, Mary Aaron Wagner, John Wagner and Caroline Maxwell DeMott; sister, Mary Lou Dekle Lanier and Jack of Moultrie; brother in law, Virgil Mims of Coolidge, GA.; daughters in law, Cindy S. DeMott of Hartsfield, GA., Christina DeMott of Moultrie, GA.
The family will receive friends from 3:00PM-4:00PM Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
