Mr. Donald Brown, 84, of Bridgeboro died Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Phoebe Worth Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Joe Brown will officiate.
Mr. Brown was born on October 9, 1932, in Worth County to the late Fred A. and Jeanette Wages Brown. He had lived in Worth County most of his life. Mr. Brown was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Doerun American Legion and Worth Masonic Lodge #194 F&AM. Mr. Brown was a graduate of ABAC and later graduated from the University of Georgia in 1953. He was a former Assistant County Agent in Chatham County working with the 4-H Club. Mr. Brown was an entrepreneur who established and became the owner of Brown Milling Company in Bridgeboro. He served on the Board of Directors for Chem-Nut, Inc., and was also past President of the Peanut Warehousemen Association. Mr. Brown was named Citizen of the Year by the Sylvester Kiwanis Club in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved his bird dogs. Mr. Brown was a farmer at heart who loved gardening and his fruit trees. He was an active member of the Bridgeboro Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and choir member.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Dorminey Brown of Bridgeboro; daughters, Donna B. Crowe (Norman), Janet B. Hudson (Ronald), Susan B. Davis (Richard), all of Sylvester; sister, Sandra B. Cochran of Macon; grandchildren, Mack Park (Lori), Kathryn "Katie" McCutcheon (John Bates), Haiden Edore (Blake), Ben Hudson (Amber), Jake Varnadoe, Sam Varnadoe and Lauren Davis; great-grandchildren, Cam and Case Hudson, Aldyn Edore and Lexy Cravens; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, James M. "Jimmy" Brown.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the Service Hour at Banks Funeral Home.
