MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Dale Aaron Culp, 90, of Moultrie, Ga., died Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home.
Funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, October 22, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Moultrie with the Rev. Wayne Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.
Born February 3, 1927 in Decatur, IL., he was the son of the late George H. Culp and Blanche Sutterfield Culp. Mr. Culp was a United States World War II Navy Veteran and retired from G.E. as an Corporate Manager of Industrial Hygiene. Mr. Culp volunteered in various organizations and was loved and respected by all. His volunteer activities include: Boy Scouts of America, Star Scout, Scout Master in Montezuma, IN., Big Springs, TX., Danville, IL, Catlin, IL., and Order of the Arrow. Mr. Culp was also involved in the Amateur Radio Relay League and Moultrie Amateur Radio Club and his call signs were W-5UMJ, W9EBM and W1BPP. He enjoyed being part of the Red Cross, Red Cross Collections Volunteer, the Lions Club, Ga. Baptist Men Disaster Relief, First Aid and CPR instructor and Connecticut Volunteer State Police. Mr. Culp was an ordained Deacon, Ordained Elder and Sunday School Teacher in Catlin, IL., Church of Christ in Wallingford, CT., Christian Church in Ansonia, CT. and Christian Church in Albany, Ga. While living in Moultrie, Mr. Culp was a member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Moultrie Men's Chorus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Louise Myers Culp; great-grandson, Riley Bentz; brother George Culp, Jr.; sister Barbara Machin.
Survivors include his son, Douglas Alan Culp of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Pamela Sue Culp Bentz of Moultrie, GA.; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Lundgren of Arizona.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-7:30PM Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
