BERLIN, Ga.- Charles Stanley Gray, Sr., 79, of Berlin, Ga., died Saturday, July 22, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Rowell and the Mr. Talmadge Folsom. Interment will follow in Springhead Cemetery in Cook Co. with the Rev. Joey Taylor officiating.
Casketbearers will be Dallas Hall, Ken Kauffman, Cleve Kilgore, Bill Gandy, Kevin Bennett and Blaine Walden.
Born December 21, 1937 in Moultrie, Ga., he was the son of the late George Gray and Effie Queen Wilkes Gray. He was a farmer and a member Hempstead Baptist Church where he was also saved. Mr. Gray was a good family man and adored his two grandchildren, Charlie and Amy. Mr. Gray enjoyed attending farm auctions.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Homer and Lorena May.
Survivors include his wife of 54 1/2 years, Carolyn May Gray of Berlin, Ga.; son, Charles Stanley "Chuck" Gray Jr. and wife Tracy of Moultrie, Ga.; two grandchildren, Amy Melody Gray and Charles Stanley "Charlie" Gray III.
The family received friends from 6:00PM - 8:00PM Monday, July 24, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
