CALLAHAN, Fla. -- Charles Billy Flowers, 81, of Callahan, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017.
He was born on July 11, 1935 in Berlin, Ga., to Chase and Ludie Flowers. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Gray Gables Baptist Church in Callahan, a graduate of Moultrie High School Class of 1953. He retired as an Air Traffic Controller in Hilliard then enjoyed spending his time gardening, landscaping and being outdoors.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Flowers; daughter, Teresa Flowers (Mark Maynard); sister, Bertie Flowers Tanner; brother and sister-in-law, Earnest and Brenda Green; sister-in-law, Francis Nushan; stepsister, Grace O'kelley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Thursday January 26, 2017 in the Nassau Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with services beginning at 12:00 with Pastor Arlin Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Earnest Green, Darren Green, Danny Green, Mark Maynard, Darrell Flowers and Malcolm Adams.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his memory be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice caregivers and personnel, Darlene McCullough and Terri Krapps.
