MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Carrie "Kitty" Kinsey Norman, 89, passed away on July 23, 2017 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Carrie Norman was born February 17, 1928 in Lake Park, Georgia to the late Heber Floyd Kinsey and Lilla Mae Padgett Kinsey. She graduated from high school in Statenville, Georgia and after finishing business school in Valdosta came to Moultrie for employment. It was in Moultrie that she met her future husband Marvin Lee Norman, and they married in 1948. She retired from Moultrie Production Credit Association (known now as AgFirst Farm Credit) in 1986 after 35 years of service. Mrs. Norman was an active member of First Baptist Church for nearly 60 years. She was a dedicated wife and mother and a kind-hearted and giving woman who loved her Lord, her family, and her friends, of whom she had many. She adored her animal companions all her life. There were many through the years, and she treated each with love, respect and great care. She has left behind her dear cats (Sammie, Callie, Patches and Sweetie) and beloved dog Jessie. She credited them with keeping her young and active. She also treasured her precious turtle, Turk, who had visited her several times each month for more than a decade to get his requisite can of cat food. Carrie Norman will be dearly missed by all those who had the good fortune to know her, both human and animal.
Mrs. Norman was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Norman; her parents; and one sister, Claudia Kinsey Hedge of Tifton, GA. Survivors include her daughter Judy Norman Hentz and husband Robert of Forsyth, GA; two sisters, Laura Kinsey House of Lake Park, GA and Carolyn Kinsey Rivers of Chesterfield, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Moultrie Humane Society, or the charity of your choice.
