JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Burma Adiar Knowles, 82, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by family on March 8, 2017.
She was born on June 29,1934 in Carrolton, Georgia. She was daughter of the late Charles Cliff Adair and Lois Arrington Adair. Burma graduated from Doerun High School. She worked many years in the cosmetology industry, where she owned many salons. She also launched many businesses including an antique store, and consignment shop in Orlando and Winter Park, Florida. She then moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she retired from Sprint long distance company.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Cliff Adair, Jr., and sister, Francis Adair.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Beaver; sons, Robert and Jeff Knowles; sister, Flo Ellen Alvarez; grandchildren, Gregory Morin, Jessica (Morin) Cooksey, Candice (Knowles) Kilgore and Curtis Knowles; great-grandchildren, Dalton Gilbert, Koby Gilbert, Maicie Morin; nieces, Peggy Strickland, Becky Adair, and other nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date.
