MOULTRIE, Ga. -- Bobby Darrell Weldon, 72, of Moultrie, Ga., died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Billy Wilkes officiating. Interment, with military honors will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
Casketbearers will be Daniel Jonsgaard, Victor Jonsgaard, Phillips Ricks, Greg Houston, Chris Adderton and Marty Dismuke. Wayne Dismuke and Johnny Shiver will serve as honorary casketbearers.
Born August 11, 1944 in Miami, Fla., he was the son of the late William Austin Weldon and Tinie Milam Weldon. Mr. Weldon was a retired Sergeant from the United States Army and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He served in Vietnam and received two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Ruth Mason Weldon; two brothers, Clem Weldon and Amos Weldon; sister, Janice Anderson.
Survivors include his first wife and caregiver, Doris Jonsgaard Hart of Moultrie, Ga.; son and caregiver, Robert Weldon and wife Anita; son, Rocky Weldon and wife Tonya, Jeff Weldon and wife Melanie, all of Moultrie, Ga.; two daughters, April Hilderbrand and husband Jesse of West Carrollton, Ohio, Wendi Weldon of Albany, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Weyerbacher, Ashley Greer and husband Stephen, Mitchell Adderton, Alex Weldon and wife Elizabeth, Matthew Norman, Heather Hilderbrand, Abigail Hilderbrand, Davey Ross and Cole Demott; two great-grandchildren, Reuben Greer and Carliah Weldon; brother, Jim Weldon and wife Phyllis of Monticello, Fla.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM - 2:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
