Mrs. Betty Jean Burke, 75, of Poulan died on Monday, December 25, 2017 at her residence.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ron Ryan & Rev. Kevin Johnson will officiate.
Mrs. Betty Jean Burke was born on January 19, 1942 in Moultrie Georgia to the late J.W and Nancy Purvis. She had lived in Worth County most of her life. Mrs. Burke was retired from Holiday Market where she served as a Store Manager. She loved making quilts for her family and friends; and she also enjoyed woodworking and Carpentry.
Survivors include her children, Keith Johnson of Forest Park GA, Kevin Johnson (Janie) of Poulan GA, Kenny Johnson (Ruth Ellen) of Sumner GA, Tammy Carver (Max) of Albany GA, Kyle Johnson (Shondia) of Sylvester GA; grandchildren, Lindsay LeBlanc, Jonathan LeBlanc, Gabriel LeBlanc, Zackary Carver and Alana Carver, Donald Johnson, Kyle Johnson Jr., Wesley Johnson (Donna), Ryan Johnson, Jeremy Johnson (Julie), Jennifer Stroud (Eric), Krinsten Creel (Curtis), Curtis Duckworth,; 10 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Purvis (Teresa), Ronnie Purvis and Donnie Purvis; sisters, Laverne Watkins and Pamela Spurlock, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burke was preceded in death by her sisters , Marie Collins, Patricia Jones and Virginia Key; brothers, William (Pat) Purvis, Edwin (June Bug) Purvis.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 PM- 8 PM at Banks Funeral Home Chapel.
