MOULTRIE, GA.- Azzie Ophelia Hardin Weathers, 93, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her home.
Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Friday, August 23, 2019 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Austin Glass and the Rev. Keith Plymel officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be her grandsons, Anthony Glass, Austin Glass, Tim Weathers, Shane Dell, Chris Bridges, Jaxx McQueen and John Flowers.
Born June 25, 1926 in Farrell AL, she was the daughter of the late William Lee Hardin and Maggie Susan Creekmore Hardin. Mrs. Weathers retired after 60 years of service from Riverside Manufacturing Company as a seamstress and was a member of Emerald Hill Baptist Church. Her family remembers how she loved her children, loved to crochet and made blankets for babies. Mrs. Weathers loved working outside, crossword puzzles and loved to read the bible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Frank Weathers; son, Charles Lanny Weathers; son-in-law, Frank Nolan Bridges; grandson, Troy Holloway; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Holloway; brothers and sisters, Wallace Clanton, Earl Burnett, Annabelle Burnett, Cheviedell Davenport, Margaret McCullough, Fay Ross, Johnnie Mae Smith and Doris Wright.
Survivors include her children, Gary Thomas Weathers and Faye, Richard Michael Weathers and Sherry, Brenda Joyce Weathers Glass and Junior, Deborah Gail Weathers Bridges all of Moultrie; daughter-in-law, Glenda Godfrey Weathers of Moultrie; 28 grandchildren and spouses, 55 great-grandchildren and spouses, twelve great-great-grandchildren, special sister-in-law, Grace Weathers Hortman of Moultrie and other family members.
Floral arrangements are accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to her church, Emerald Hill Baptist Church, 6104 Tallokas Road, Moultrie, GA. 31768.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
